Montauk, often to referred to as “The End”, located at the Eastern tip of Long Island. A long time fishing community now draws thousands of visitors who appreciate the beautiful beaches, plentiful restaurants and a child friendly atmosphere. Sport fishermen surf-casting on land or from boats out at sea found the fertile waters to be some of the best on the East Coast. Gosman’s restaurant is a local favorite with more of a quiet atmosphere - reservations recommended.
Fire Island and Captree are located on the south shore of Suffolk county. The Great South Bay separates the mainland of Long Island with the barrier beach, Fire Island, where one can see deer run along the beaches. The Fire Island Lighthouse serves as focal point for the area and provides a site to return to if you take a memorial service charter from one of its marinas. Service is available April through December, with prices around $850.00 for up to 20 passengers with a capacity of up to 80. Nearby Babylon Village has all the charm of a small town, offering no less than 25 restaurants within a six block radius should you decide to dine afterwards. The larger restaurants can get a bit noisy, I suggest looking online for a smaller venue, depending on your party size.
Freeport in Nassau County sits just on the opposite side of “The Nautical Mile” and as the name suggest is approximately one mile in length with seafood restaurants, gift shops and plenty of outdoor dining. Commercial and pleasure boats navigate out to open seas by way of the Jones Beach Inlet. Jones Beach has held some very special memories for many of our families and the Freeport location is easy to get to via car or the Long Island Rail Road. Taxis are readily available at the train station and it's just a short ride to the dock. Prices are about $850.00 for up to 20 passengers with a capacity of up to 50. Service is available April through December.
New York Harbor and vicinity departs from Liberty Landing Marina by the Statue of Liberty. Easy to get to from New York City by water taxi or by car via the Lincoln Tunnel. This 6 passenger capacity vessel is priced at $850.00 and offers a spectacular view of the lower Manhattan skyline including the Freedom Tower, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as you head out of New York Harbor. Captain Jim offers year round service - weather permitting. Liberty House restaurant opens at noon and is walking distance from our vessel.
City Island, The Bronx is the best kept secret in New York. This island, just about one and half miles long has a history of ship building and oystermen. Today the main avenue provides numerous seafood restaurants, antique and ice cream shops. City Island is easy to get to and just about one hour from Queens, Northern New Jersey and upstate communities. Starting at $780.00 for up to 17 passengers with several other vessels to accommodate up to 100. This serves as the perfect location for those centered in Manhattan and expect more than 6 passengers. Service is available April through December. Two local restaurants with a subdued atmosphere include Porafino’s or Archie’s - reservations recommended.
